Wi-Fi and power
A network that handles messaging may still fail a video call. Look for recent evidence about stability as well as speed, and keep mobile data as a backup for critical work.
An outlet across the room is not the same as power at the table. Do not create trip hazards or use sockets the cafe does not permit.
Noise and light
Steady background sound may suit one person while sudden peaks break another person’s concentration. Calls also require considering the people around you, not only whether you can hear.
Natural light can help until it creates screen glare. Seat direction and the time of day can change the same table.
Record context, not universal claims
A useful note includes day, time, task, and where you sat. “Quiet Tuesday at 10:00 near the back wall” is more actionable than “always quiet.”
Conditions should be rechecked because staffing, layout, routers, events, and crowd patterns change.
