Define the work first
A short email session, a two-hour writing block, and a video call need different places. Decide duration, power needs, call tolerance, and whether you want silence or light social energy.
This prevents choosing a cafe that is generally pleasant but wrong for today.
Read conditions, not just reviews
Look for recent evidence about Wi-Fi quality, outlet availability, table height and size, noise, light, opening hours, and whether laptops are welcome at the time you plan to visit.
A single old review is weaker than several recent, specific signals. Unknown information should remain unknown.
Respect the cafe
Check minimum-spend, laptop-zone, busy-hour, and table-time policies where they exist. Buy appropriately for the time you stay and avoid occupying scarce tables during peak periods.
A work-friendly choice should work for both the visitor and the cafe.
